In detail
A serving board is not a chopping board and should not pretend to be. This one is face-grain walnut at twenty-four millimetres — thin enough to lift and pass, dark enough to make cheese and charcuterie look like something, and not intended to take a blade.
Four hundred and fifty by two hundred and twenty millimetres with a rounded edge and a shallow finger channel at each end. Finished in food-grade oil, not lacquer, so it can be refreshed rather than scratched. Wipe and oil monthly. It will not go in a dishwasher and it should never be left wet — walnut cups faster than maple.
The one limitation worth stating: no ceramic body survives a jump from freezer to hot oven, and this one is no exception. Everything here is oven-safe from cold and freezer-safe on its own; it is the transition between the two that cracks a glaze, and no vitrification prevents it.
