In detail
The side plate is the piece a household actually runs out of — breakfast, toast, cheese, the thing that does not need a dinner plate. Twenty-one centimetres in the same vitrified body as the dinner plates, so a mixed table still reads as one service.
Under half a percent water absorption means no crazing and no staining. The rim is proportionally the same as the dinner plate so the two stack and sit together properly. Set of four, dishwasher, microwave and oven safe to 200°C, with a glazed and ground foot.
The one limitation worth stating: no ceramic body survives a jump from freezer to hot oven, and this one is no exception. Everything here is oven-safe from cold and freezer-safe on its own; it is the transition between the two that cracks a glaze, and no vitrification prevents it.
Why this one. Water absorption under half a percent is the whole argument. It is a single laboratory number, it is rarely published, and it separates a service that still looks like this in ten years from one that crazes, stains and holds a smell inside twelve months — at the same price, in the same shapes, on the same shelf.
