In detail
A jug is judged in the last second of the pour. A lip with a sharp underside breaks the stream cleanly; a rounded one lets liquid follow the outside of the jug and run down it. This one is ground to a defined edge.
One point two litres — water for a table of six, or a batch of custard. The handle is set high so a full jug balances rather than pulling forward. Same vitrified stoneware as the service, under half a percent absorption, dishwasher safe. It doubles as a vase, which is the second thing every jug is used for.
The one limitation worth stating: no ceramic body survives a jump from freezer to hot oven, and this one is no exception. Everything here is oven-safe from cold and freezer-safe on its own; it is the transition between the two that cracks a glaze, and no vitrification prevents it.
