In detail
A pasta bowl is a shallow well rather than a deep bowl, which matters more than it sounds: a deep bowl steams what is in it and buries the top of the dish, a wide low one lets a sauce spread and a garnish be seen. Twenty-four centimetres across with a forty-millimetre wall.
It is also the most useful bowl in a house — grain bowls, curry, soup, a roast dinner with gravy that would run off a plate. Same vitrified stoneware as the rest of the service, under half a percent absorption. Set of four, dishwasher, microwave and oven safe to 200°C.
The one limitation worth stating: no ceramic body survives a jump from freezer to hot oven, and this one is no exception. Everything here is oven-safe from cold and freezer-safe on its own; it is the transition between the two that cracks a glaze, and no vitrification prevents it.
