In detail
A platter is only useful if it takes the entire roast, and forty centimetres does. Because it is the same vitrified stoneware as everything else here, it can be warmed in the oven to 200°C first — putting a hot joint on a cold platter is how meat goes lukewarm on the way to the table.
Oval with a shallow well and a raised rim that holds resting juices rather than letting them run onto the tablecloth. Under half a percent absorption, so it will not stain from a red-wine gravy or hold a smell. Dishwasher safe, and it stacks under the serving bowl.
The one limitation worth stating: no ceramic body survives a jump from freezer to hot oven, and this one is no exception. Everything here is oven-safe from cold and freezer-safe on its own; it is the transition between the two that cracks a glaze, and no vitrification prevents it.
