It is what we would put in a kitchen we were starting from nothing: five pans that cover every technique, three knives that cover every cut, a service for four in one vitrified body, and the prep and storage that make the rest usable. Bought separately it is a little over $900. Each piece keeps its own care note; the only one that needs regular attention is the board, which wants oiling monthly.
