In detail
Prep bowls live in the part of a kitchen where things get spilled, stacked and forgotten, so the body matters more than the shape. These are vitrified — fired until water absorption is under half a percent — which is why they do not craze, stain from turmeric or tomato, or hold the smell of garlic after a week.
Six sizes from 100 ml to 1.2 litres, nesting into the footprint of the largest. Straight sides so a spatula can actually clear them, and a foot that grips a wet worktop. Dishwasher, microwave and freezer safe; the only thing they will not take is a jump from freezer to hot oven.
What it is not: a substitute for the piece next to it in this course. We list what each thing does and where it stops, because a catalogue that only records strengths is one you cannot use to choose between two things.
