In detail
A drying towel is a weight specification. Below about 300 gsm a towel wets through on the second plate and then just moves water about. These are 380 gsm in a linen-cotton weave, which is heavy enough to dry a full setting and open enough to give up the water again when it hangs.
Fifty by seventy centimetres — long enough to fold over a rail without trailing, wide enough to hold a hot lid. They arrive slightly stiff and reach full absorbency after two or three washes, which is the flax softening rather than a fault. Wash hot, no softener.
What it is not: a substitute for the piece next to it in this course. We list what each thing does and where it stops, because a catalogue that only records strengths is one you cannot use to choose between two things.
