In detail

Plastic containers stain, hold smells and cannot go in an oven. Borosilicate does none of those things and takes 400°F, which turns a container into a baking dish and means last night’s dinner is reheated in the thing it was stored in.

Six pieces from 350 ml to 1.5 litres, rectangular so they use a shelf properly rather than a round footprint. The lids carry a one-way vent so a microwave does not dome them and a fridge does not vacuum them shut. Bodies are dishwasher, oven, microwave and freezer safe. Lids are top-rack only.

What it is not: airtight in the laboratory sense. A domestic gasket keeps coffee fresh for weeks and biscuits crisp for days; it is not a vacuum, and anything that has to be genuinely sealed for months wants a jar and a fridge rather than a worktop container.

Why this one. Storage is judged on the parts nobody photographs: whether the gasket comes out, whether the filter is a standard size, whether the lid vents, whether the footprint uses a shelf or wastes it. Those four things decide whether a container is still in use in three years or in the back of a cupboard.
